For every guess, you'll get two clues. You'll be told how close you are to the meaning of the answer, and how close you are to its letters.
For example: the words "sofa" and "couch" have similar meanings, but their letters are pretty different. On the other hand, the words "couch" and "coach" have different meanings, but their letters are similar. By using both Meaning and Letters distance clues, you can (maybe) hone in on the answer.
This game was inspired by David Turner's Semantle, in combination with "letter match" games like Josh Wardle's Wordle. Semantle uses semantic clues, and Wordle uses lexical clues; what happens when we try to find words using both signals? This is a place where you dowse for words, not water.
Ultimately, this is an experiment in what might be a decent word game. It's all for fun, with no plans for showing ads or selling anything. If you want to post your score or find out more about the game, one place to look is the Dowsle subreddit.
